Brink is a US 501(c)(3), nonprofit, public charity that exists to strengthen the Bitcoin protocol and network through fundamental research and development, and to support the Bitcoin developer community through funding, education, and mentoring.

We're looking for an office manager of our London office to support all operational, HR, accounting, and administrative responsibilities of Brink Technology Ltd.

This hire is responsible for overseeing and supporting up to 10 software developers and other personnel in our London office as well as acting in an HR generalist capacity, reporting remotely to the organization's executive director.  

Office supervision is a primary role but additionally, the employee will have HR, operational, vendor relations, administrative assistance and other responsibilities.

Ultimately, the office manager should be able to ensure the smooth running of our London office and help to improve company procedures and day-to-day operation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point person for office manager duties including: maintenance, mailing, supplies, office equipment, bills, errands, shopping, employee expenses
  • Partner with the US Director of Operations to develop, maintain and enforce office HR policies as necessary ensuring staff comply with all applicable law, policies for the company, and policies for the specific office.
  • Work with the US Director of Operations to (1) organize office operations and procedures, (2) ensure that all items are invoiced, paid on time and recorded into accounting softwares, (3) manage contract and price negotiations with vendors, service providers and office lease
  • Provide general support to visitors per building requirements. Evaluates requests for guests or non-local employees of the organization to visit or work in the office, possibly for extended periods of time and ensures guests or visiting employees are not disruptive to proper functioning of the office and takes all appropriate steps necessary to help visitors contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires including but not limited to obtaining visas, office needs, computer hardware, employee benefits, payroll, and other UK specific support
  • Address employee queries regarding office management issues 
  • Liaise with WeWork and other vendors as required
  • Plan in-house or off-site activities, like parties, meetups, celebrations and conferences
  • Other duties as assigned by the executive director or the board

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as an Office Manager, Front Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, HR professional, or in an Operations role
  • Knowledge of Office Administrator responsibilities, systems, and procedures
  • Ability to develop, document, execute, improve, and automate organization workflows
  • Friendly demeanor and clear communication
  • Accounting experience a plus
  • Bitcoin knowledge is a plus
