Field Operations Manager
Description
As Giga Energy’s Field Operations Manager, you will manage 30+ MW of Giga’s bitcoin mining facilities both off-grid and on-grid across Texas, Louisiana Oklahoma, and Utah. You will be responsible for maintaining high uptime at every facility. As the primary point of contact for all mining operations, you must always be in tune with the status and tasks required to operate each site effectively. In addition to managing a team of field technicians, you will also work closely with the power systems team to ensure generator uptime at each site. You will also communicate with external parties such as hosting customers on the status of each site.
Responsibilities
- Train and direct field technicians in an efficient and effective manner to ensure smooth deployments and continued operations
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Giga and project stakeholders such as joint venture partners, hosting clients, and oil and gas operators.
- Use software tools such as Foreman to manage site uptime
- Communicate with power generation team in order to ensure generator uptime
- Handle the site deployment process end-to-end, including coordinating logistics, build out, equipment installation, etc
- Ensure optimal site uptime
- Maintain a culture that prioritizes safety and quality
- Represent Giga Energy by consistently exhibiting a professional manner
- Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience at a bitcoin mining facility and managing teams
- BS or MS in business or technical discipline and/or evidence of exceptional experience
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills, strong writing skills, grammatical skills
- Strong problem-solving skill set and ability to work in ambiguity
- Proficient and familiar with software tools
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed (up to 25%)
- Ability to adapt to ever-changing work assignments in a fast-paced work environment
- Must have 2+ years of experience in the field
